Cookie Policy
Effective date: January 17, 2026
Last updated: August 20, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Bilargo - Michał Lipski uses cookies, local storage, pixels, consent tools, and similar technologies on https://justpercent.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
Some technologies are set directly by the website. Others are set or used by third-party services that help us run the site, measure usage, manage consent, and support advertising. Depending on your region, applicable law, and your choices, some of these technologies are optional and may be activated only after consent or may be subject to opt-out controls.
What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, SDK-like browser tools, and consent records used to remember settings, measure site usage, support advertising, and keep the site working.
Categories of technologies we use
- Essential technologies: needed for security, basic page delivery, consent storage, and core site functionality. These cannot usually be turned off through Cookie Settings because the site depends on them. This category also covers the service worker and its Cache Storage, which keep a copy of pages, scripts, styles, and images on your device so the site loads faster on later visits and keeps working offline. It is installed only if you ask for it — by ticking “Offline mode” in the site footer or by installing the app on your device. It stores no information about you, is removed as soon as you untick that box, and can also be removed by clearing site data in your browser.
- Preference technologies: used to remember settings such as theme, locale, calculator order, favorites, calculator history, notes, and similar on-device preferences.
- Analytics and measurement technologies: used to understand traffic, site performance, feature usage, and user behavior. Google Analytics 4 is active in this category; session analytics and replay (Hotjar / Contentsquare) are currently disabled.
- Advertising technologies: used to serve ads, limit repetition, measure ad performance, and, depending on your location, configuration, and choices, support personalized or non-personalized advertising through providers such as Google AdSense. This category is planned, not yet active – no advertising technologies run on the website today.
How consent and privacy choices work
We currently use CookieYes as our consent management platform. Our consent tooling is configured to present different privacy choice experiences depending on region, including a GDPR-style banner and a U.S. state privacy banner with opt-out controls. In the EU/EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Analytics remains off until you actively opt in. In the United States, Analytics operates on our legitimate interest in aggregate service usage measurement unless you opt out. An enabled Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal is honored as an objection before the first request to Google.
You can review or change your choices through Cookie Settings and, where available, the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information control in the site footer. You can also manage some technologies through your browser settings, although doing so may affect how the website works.
Google Tag Manager and tag deployment
We use Google Tag Manager as a tag-management container. The container is requested only after our consent tool reports that analytics technologies are permitted: where the site uses an opt-in banner (the EEA, including Poland, and the international version), nothing at all is fetched from googletagmanager.com until you accept; in the United States, where the site uses an opt-out model, the container is fetched unless you opt out. If the region or consent state cannot be determined, the container remains blocked. Even then, loading the container does not by itself mean that every optional analytics or advertising technology is active. Whether a specific measurement or advertising tag operates may depend on site configuration, applicable law, your region, and the choices you make through our consent tools. Our consent management platform (CookieYes) is not part of that container: it is loaded directly from the provider's CDN so that the banner and your choices work before any optional tag can run.
Health-related pages
Some calculators and FAQ pages touch health-related topics (for example calories, sugar intake, weight change, or medical cost sharing). On those pages analytics and advertising technologies are switched off entirely: the tag container is not loaded at all, so no page view is measured there regardless of your consent choices. Only the consent banner itself remains available.
Ad personalization
Advertising is planned but not yet active: no ads are served on the website today. Once it goes live, we may use Google AdSense and related Google advertising services to serve and measure ads. Depending on your location, the privacy regime that applies, banner logic, and your choices, ads may then be personalized, non-personalized, or not served at all. This policy will be updated before advertising is switched on.
Our consent setup may also communicate consent or opt-out signals to participating vendors or supported advertising frameworks, where configured.
Third-party providers
Depending on site configuration and your choices, we may use:
- Cloudflare for hosting, CDN, request handling, and security;
- Google Tag Manager for tag management and deployment of measurement or advertising tags;
- Google Analytics (GA4) for website analytics and usage reporting;
- Hotjar / Contentsquare for session analytics, behavior insights, and replay features – currently disabled; this policy will be updated before the tool is switched back on;
- Google AdSense and related Google advertising services for ad delivery and measurement – planned, not yet active; this policy will be updated before advertising goes live;
- CookieYes for consent management, geotargeted privacy banners, and privacy preference controls.
Cookie list and retention
The inventory below reflects the technologies deployed on the website at the date of this policy. Our own code sets no cookies of its own: every cookie listed here comes from a third-party provider, while our own entries are kept in browser storage on your device.
Apart from the CookieYes consent cookie described above, which the consent banner sets when it first appears so that it can remember your choice, on-device entries are written only after you actively use the site — for example when you change the theme, reorder calculators, star a favorite, or save a note. Simply opening a page, reading it and leaving stores nothing else on your device.
We use two kinds of browser storage. Local storage keeps settings between visits until you clear site data. Session storage is a short-lived scratchpad tied to the browser tab: everything in it disappears the moment you close that tab. Neither leaves your device — the entries are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and none of them contains an identifier, an account, or a tracking value.
| Name | Provider | Category | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| cky-consent, cookieyes-consent | CookieYes Limited | Essential | Record of your consent choice: consent ID, timestamp, selected categories. | 12 months, then we ask again |
| jp:config:v1 | Just Percent (local storage, on your device) | Preferences | Calculator settings, including your locale preference. | Until you clear site data |
| jp:memos:v1 | Just Percent (local storage, on your device) | Preferences | Saved calculations and notes. | Until you clear site data |
| jp:inputs:v3 | Just Percent (local storage, on your device) | Preferences | Values you entered into the calculators. | 30 days after you last used the calculators, or until you clear site data — whichever comes first |
| jp:session:v1 | Just Percent (session storage, on your device) | Essential | Scroll position of the page you are leaving and which explanation card you opened, so that going back returns you to the same spot instead of the top of the page. | Until you close the browser tab |
| lastHomeTab | Just Percent (session storage, on your device) | Preferences | Which tab you last used on the home page ("All" or "Favorites"), so the breadcrumb matches where you came from. | Until you close the browser tab |
| jp-scroll-to-search | Just Percent (session storage, on your device) | Essential | A single marker set when you press the search button on a calculator page, so the home page knows to scroll straight to the search box. Cleared as soon as it is used. | Until used, at most until you close the tab |
| jp-runtime-reset | Just Percent (session storage, on your device) | Essential | A single marker used only when we have to remotely clear a broken offline copy of the site. It is not written during normal use — most visitors never have this entry. | Until you close the browser tab |
Service worker + Cache Storage (runtime-v…)
| Just Percent (on your device) | Essential | A copy of the site's own files (pages, scripts, styles, images) so the site loads faster on later visits and keeps working offline. Installed only if you switch on “Offline mode” in the footer or install the app; it holds no personal data and no identifiers. | Until you switch off “Offline mode”, or you clear site data (a new version of the site replaces the copy in place) |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google (Google Analytics 4) | Analytics | Traffic statistics: pages viewed, approximate browser and device data, anonymized IP. Set in the EU/EEA, UK, and Switzerland only after Analytics opt-in; in the United States unless you opt out or enable GPC. | Up to 2 years (browsers may shorten this) |
| _hj* | Hotjar / Contentsquare | Analytics – currently disabled | Session analytics. Not set at the moment; if re-enabled, only after consent and with calculator fields masked. | Per configuration at the time it is enabled |
| Advertising cookies | Google AdSense | Advertising – not yet active | Ad delivery and measurement. Nothing is set today; ads are planned and this policy will be updated first. | Up to 540 days once enabled |
Cookie Settings also exposes the live cookie list, including the provider, purpose, category, and retention period for each cookie. Treat that list as the live reference point: it may change over time based on the tools enabled on the site and the choices you make.
Third-party technologies may also be described in the providers' own privacy or cookie notices.
Browser storage and on-device data
In addition to cookies, we use browser storage to remember preferences and support site features. In local storage this may include theme and locale settings, calculator order, favorites, calculator history, notes, and records of your privacy choices. In session storage we keep only short-lived navigation state — where you had scrolled to, which home page tab you were on, and one-off markers — all of which vanish when you close the tab. The table above lists every entry we create, together with its purpose and lifetime.
The service worker and its Cache Storage described under “Essential technologies” are on-device storage too. They hold only copies of the site's own files, are installed only when you ask for offline access — by ticking “Offline mode” in the site footer or by installing the app — and are deleted as soon as you untick that box. You can also remove them at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
The values you type into the calculators (jp:inputs:v3) are kept only for as long as you keep using them: the entry expires 30 days after your last calculation and is deleted from your device on your next visit. Settings and saved calculations you created on purpose (jp:config:v1, jp:memos:v1) stay until you remove them.
None of this information is stored on our servers, and none of it is transmitted anywhere. It stays on your device and can be removed through your browser settings.
International processing
Because our consent, analytics, hosting, and advertising providers operate internationally, cookie-related and similar data may be processed in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other jurisdictions where those providers operate.
Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change our consent setup, add or remove vendors, change how analytics or advertising technologies are deployed, or need to reflect legal or operational developments. The current version will always be posted on this page with the latest update date.
